About CRICS (Centre for Research in Chemical Science)
The Department of Chemistry at the Career College has been recognized as a research centre in 2015 by Barkatullah University, Bhopal. It offers doctoral and post-doctoral research opportunities in all major areas of chemical and allied sciences. Thrust areas include Synthesis & Complexation, QSAR & Molecular Modelling, Soil Analysis & Characterization, Pharmaco-kinetic and Pharmaco-dynamic, Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Smart Materials, Nano Materials, Green Chemical Synthesis, Organic Synthesis, Opto-sensors, Nano synthesis, Development of Greener Devices, Green and Sustainable Chemistry, Water Analysis and Toxicity Monitoring, Nanotechnology.
The dedicated team of faculty members consistently seek substantial support for research related activities from various funding agencies. Faculty members have recognition as BoS members, fellow of scientific councils, journal editors, recognized reviewers of various esteemed journals and also have awards for their meritorious research activities. The department actively organizes scientific events of repute and faculty members have presented their deliberations as invited speakers, resource persons in various national and international conferences/seminars/workshops and FDPs. The department is enriched with an excellent research atmosphere to nurture the same in its scholars to pursue world-class research.

Dr. Suparna Ghosh (Brief Profile)
An experienced and versatile organic scientist, Dr. Suparna Ghosh obtained her doctorate degree in 2011 from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Inclusive of all, she has 18 years of teaching and 14 years of research experience.
She is a Ph. D. Panel member (University) and in Board of studies of sciences. Her teaching expertise includes organic chemistry, photochemistry, spectroscopy especially NMR and Mass. She holds an excellent academic and research record. She has published more than 30 high-impact research papers in journals of repute; most of those are indexed in Thomson Reuters & Scopus, Web of Science (SCI & ESCI).
She has extensively presented/participated in more than 65 national and international conferences/seminars/webinars. She has guided more than 40 PG dissertations, 1 UGC projects and 5 student projects as PI and 2 Projects (UGC STRIDE/MPCST) have been applied. She has been a resource person, invited speaker for various national and international events of repute. She is a reviewer, editor, book contributor, and is a fellow of Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata and Society of Chemists, Agra. Her thrust areas of research include organic synthesis and complexation studies, green synthesis, complexation and spectroscopic analysis. She organized a number of scientific events as Co-coordinator, Joint Organizing Secretary, Co-Convener, and wrote one book chapter @ Taylor & Francis, developed more than 80 E- Content.
Dr. Shweta Sharma (Brief Profile)
A young and enthusiastic researcher, Dr. Shweta Sharma obtained her doctorate in 2014 from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Inclusively, she has 14 years of teaching and 10 years of research experience. She is a medicinal chemistry scholar who has mastery over teaching physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, surface chemistry, thermodynamics and spectroscopy particularly IR and XRD. She holds an excellent academic and research record. She has published more than 26 high-impact research papers in reputable journals of repute; most of those are indexed in Thomson Reuters & Scopus, Web of Science (SCI & ESCI). She has well showcased her research in more than 50 national and international conferences/seminars/webinars. She has guided more than 40 PG dissertations, 1 UGC projects and 5 student projects as PI and 1 project (UGC STRIDE) has been applied. She has been a resource person, invited speaker for various national and international events of repute. She is a reviewer, editor, book contributor, and is fellow of Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata. Dr. Anita K (Brief Profile)
An experienced and devoted researcher, Dr. Anita obtained her doctorate in 2014 from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Inclusively, she has 26 years of teaching and 10 years of research experience. She is a pharmaceutical chemistry scholar who has mastery over teaching inorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, environmental chemistry, biochemistry and spectroscopy. She holds an excellent academic and research record. She has published more than 25 high-impact research papers in journals of repute; most of those are indexed in Thomson Reuters & Scopus, Web of Science (SCI & ESCI). She has well showcased her research in more than 55 national and international conferences/seminars/webinars. She has guided more than 40 PG dissertations, 1 UGC projects and 5 student projects as PI. She has been a resource person, invited speaker for various national and international events of repute. She is a reviewer, editor, book contributor, and is fellow of Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata. Dr. Ruchi Dubey Sharma (Brief Profile)
An academician and versatile environmental researcher Dr. Ruchi Dubey Sharma, obtained her doctorate in 2013 and has around 20 years of Teaching and 12 years of Research experience including 2 years as JRF. Her teaching expertise includes industrial chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic reaction mechanism, surface chemistry and spectroscopy particularly electronic spectroscopy. She is in Ph. D. Panel member (University) and in Board of studies of sciences. She has more than 31 high-impact research papers in journals of repute; most of those are indexed in Thomson Reuters & Scopus, Web of Science (SCI & ESCI). An excellent research record has been shown by her exclusive presentations in 25 international and 45 national conferences and seminars, and attended more than 25 workshops/Faculty Development Program. To her credit she has various awards and recognitions viz; 16 Best Paper Awards including Indian Chemical Society Award and Science Communicator from Bhopal Chapter, Indian Science Congress Association, nominated for International Scientist Award as Women Scientist-2019, VD Good Technology Factory, Chennai. She has acted as Resource Person, Invited Speaker at various International and National Conference/Workshops/Webinars/FDP of repute. Her research thrust areas include Paper based Sensors, Nano sensors, Environmental Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Green Synthesis, Nanomaterial from activated carbon and waste materials. She has Filed one patent, guided more than 20 PG dissertations, 5 student projects as PI and 2 projects (MPCST and DST-SERB) have been applied. She holds life membership of Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata. She has organized a number of events as Co-coordinator, Joint Organizing Secretary, Co-Convener, written one book chapter @ Taylor & Francis and edited 3 books., developed lecture videos and around 100 e-content.
