The Dept. of Biotechnology and Biochemistry came into existence in the year 2002. In a short span of time it made tremendous progress in research and placement of students in various fields like Pharmacological Industries, Brew and Beverage Industries and so forth. Biochemistry is the study of the chemical processes that take place in living organisms. This broad definition of biochemistry is that it encompasses a wide range of scientific topics, including Stem Cell, Immunology, Pharmacology, Forensics, Cancer Research, Environmental Science and Food Science.
Biotechnology is a broad discipline in which biological processes, organisms, cells or cellular components are exploited to develop new technologies. New tools and products developed by biotechnologists are useful in research, agriculture, industry and the clinic.
In addition to this department completed various research projects sponsored by MPCOST. The Dept. of Biochemistry and Biotechnology follow UGC norms and parameters so as to achieve all round development of the students and to make them equipped with the tool of knowledge and information that will aid them in their future endeavors and also in the development of our country.
