Presentation cum workshop on Phonetics

The personality Assessment and Development cell organized two days presentation cum workshop on “Phonetics” for PG and UG students from 5/2/2021 to 6/2/2021at language lab.The presentation was given by Dr. Anju Pathak, Asst Prof English. In her presentation she enlightened students about Phonetics which is a branch of linguistics where the sounds and physical properties of human speech sounds are studied. She apprised that In today’s generation, where communication plays an important role in every field, phonetics focuses on letter sounds and not just letter names or spellings. Phonetics helps you in decoding words and pronouncing it correctly. It reduces mumbling and fumbling and helps in boosting your confidence With 44 sounds one gets the tools to read almost any word. Articulatory phonetics: focuses on how the vocal tract produces the sounds of language and by using IPA symbols, that will Improves your fluency and accent.
