Duration of Program:

The Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.M.L.T) is a 3 year undergraduate degree coursecomprises of both theoretical and practical subjects, affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU) Jabalpur.

Eligibility Criteria:

A student should have passed higher secondary (10+2) with Biology as a subject from any recognized board with a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate.

What  are the BMLT  Subjects: 

Students must know about the subjects of a BMLT course. This will bring a clear thought regarding the course residency and educational plan they will learn. The subjects of the course are Microbiology, Virology, Parasitology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Hematology and Histology.

Scope:

BMLT is a three year undergraduate degree course for students. Medical technologists are an integral part of the medical profession. These professionals are involved in the practical and technical work for proper diagnosis and effective functioning of pathology laboratories. 

Lab technicianare a vital part of the medical job. The job opportunities in this field depend on the basis of the academic and technical skills of the technologist or technician.

  • Private and Govt. Hospitals: Lab Technician provides information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing laboratory tests in biochemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories. They are responsible for recording and analyzing test reports.
  • Blood Banks:Blood banktechnicians, also called phlebotomy technicians, work in a lab under the guidance of a medical or clinical laboratory technologist or manager. Technicians collect, label and prepare blood, plasma and other components for transfusions.
  • Nursing Homes
  • R&D lab :(R&D) lab technicians are responsible to work in a research facility setting, leading tests to guarantee that items are being tried effectively. They are responsible for gathering information, keeping precise records, and ensuring records are documented effectively.
