Industrial Visit to SOM Distilleries, Raisen

On 10th January 2025, the Department of Microbiology at Career College, Bhopal,
organized an industrial visit to SOM Distilleries, Raisen, for approximately 45
undergraduate and postgraduate students, accompanied by faculty members. The
visit aimed to provide practical insights into the brewing process, a vital
component of their academic syllabus.

Students were introduced to key stages of brewing, including working, mashing,
and fermentation. Mr. Kanhaiya Lal Patel, Senior Manager of Quality, and Mr.
Rathi, Senior Manager of Production, conducted informative sessions, emphasizing
quality control, professional ethics, and the importance of intellectual property
such as copyrights and patents.

The visit also included a fascinating tour of the bottling and packaging units, which
left students captivated by the seamless integration of technology and precision.
This hands-on experience enriched their theoretical knowledge and offered a deeper understanding of professional practices in the brewing industry.
