Department of Microbiology organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Urban Indoor Farming Technology” on 29th March 2023 for M.Sc. and B.Sc. Microbiology students. The Speaker for the session was Dr. Manoj Kumar Solanki PhD Microbiology, PDF from GXAAS China, ARO Isreal and University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland) Currently: Researcher at University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. Producing or growing food in a city or other heavily populated areas is known as Urban farming. It refers to agricultural practices in urban and their peri-urban areas. It increases the availability of food for people in need by supporting and encouraging the establishment of gardens on unused land and space. The speaker shed light on these points and also explained about the future prospects of this technology. The session was wonderful and highly informative for students.
