Access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food is key to sustaining life and promoting good health. Unsafe food containing harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemical substances causes diseases. Department of Microbiology organized a guest lecture on the topic “Global Food Safety and Hygiene Issues” on 7th September 2022 for M.Sc. and B.Sc Microbiology students. It was a very informative session and the expert explained the topic in view of the current trends in food industry and importance of maintaining a stipulated standard while testing and certification all over the world regarding various categories of food. A total of 25 students participated in the event.
