Medical Laboratory Technology
Medical Laboratory Technology is one of the largest and important professions in the field of health care. The technologists are skilled personnel’s who perform tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. As vital members of the health care team, they assist physicians during the diagnosis and treatment of the patients.
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years at the time of admission.
Minimum Qualification - 10+2 class passed with science (PCB) & English Core/ English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/HSCE of other equivalent Board. However for SC/ST/OBC Candidates the percentage will be relaxed to 40%.
Students shall be medically fit.
Total number of seats shall be 50.
B.M.L.T- Bachelor in medical laboratory technology
BMLT is a 3 year undergraduate degree course run by the institution since 2004-05. Medical laboratory techniques play very vital role in diagnosis of various diseases and conditions. It is a career oriented course with bright prospects in future. After completion of this course one can work in various hospitals, research centers and can also open their own laboratories

A Guest lecture was organized on 14thFeb.2017 by Dr.Sarita Agrawal Gynecologist CIMS, Bhopal on the topic ‘Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome’. She explained about Harmonal Changes during manustration cycle, Fast food is the main cause of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, Stress and irregular life style also plays an important role in this syndrome.
Research Methodology & Design of Research Project
A Guest lecture was organized on 5th Dec.2016 by Dr. Rashmi Choudhary Asst. Professor, Biochemistry AIIMS, Bhopal on the topic of ‘Research Methodology & Design of Research Project’. She guided the students about the scope of Pathology and Biochemistry, She also focused on how to design a project, problems and its solutions facing in Project Designing, students involvement in research work etc.
Research Methodology and MDR TB
A Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. Manoj Verma, District T.B. Officer, and Supervisor, Bhopal on the topic of ‘Research Methodology and MDR TB’ on 26th Nov.2016. He highlighted the importance of Antibiotic Resistance, symptoms of TB & MDR TB, Transmission of Disease, Social Awareness about TB, importance of dose for TB patients, Drug Resistance and its serious impact on a healthy person. It was a very motivating lecture.
MDR TB and DOT
A Guest Lecture was organized on 11th Aug.2016 for BMLT I, II & III Year students on the topic ‘MDR TB and DOT’ in the field of Pathology by Ms. Sangeeta Mahale, Research Scholar, Kasturba Hospital, Bhopal. She explained about - Lab Diagnosis of TB, Culture of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, symptoms of TB, Microscopic examination of M. Tuberculosis.
Blood Bank and Cross Match
A Guest lecture was delivered by none other than our own alumni student of B.M.L.T. (2007-09 Batch) Rohit Mishra Lab Technician, Red Cross Society, Bhopal on the topic of ‘Blood Bank and Cross Match’ on 11th Aug.2016. He explained about the types of Blood groups, Identification of Blood groups, Antigen & Antibody reaction in crossmatch, importance of blood donation.
Role of Medical Laboratory Technologists
A Guest Lecture was delivered by Pooja Choubey, Assistant Professor, Rajiv Gandhi College, Bhopal on the topic of ‘Role of Medical Laboratory Technologists’ on 23rd Feb.2018. She explained to the students about the role, responsibility and ethics of Laboratory Technician in Lab.
A Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. Anju Singh, Physician, CIMS, Bhopal on the topic of ‘Megaloblastic Anemia’ on 23rd Feb.2018. She discussed students about the causes of Anemia, general symptoms of Anemia, and also explained how stress and irregular lifestyle also effect on people suffering from anemia.
Quality Control, Application & Management
A Guest Lecture was organized on 16th Dec. 2017 for BMLT I, II & III Year students on the topic ‘Quality Control, Application & Management’ in the field of Pathology by Dr. Santosh Nayak Microbiologist, Vector Biotech, Pvt. Ltd. Navsari, Gujarat. Students got knowledge about advance biochemical test and importance of quality control in Pathology.
Students of Pathology Dept. Visited in BMHRC, Bhopal on 10th May 2016. Dr. Manisha Shrivastava, Professor & HOD Dept. Transfusion Medicine and senior technician of various division explained students about the Lab safety measures, Collection of various samples, Procedure used in Blood Bank.
Red Cross Society Bhopal
Students of Pathology Dept. visited Red Cross Bhopal on 12th November 2015. Dr. O. P. Shrivastav, Director Blood Bank Red Cross Society guided the students about the crossmatch and blood donation, Senior technician of various division explained several instruments like ELISA, Automatic analyzer, Spectrophotometer etc. It was a verey enriching experience for the students, along with other faculty members and HOD Manish Soni.
District Hospital, Vidisha
Students of Pathology Dept. visited District Hospital Vidisha on 17th Sep.2016. Dr.Arya, CEO and Senior Technician explained about the functioning of various divisions to the students such as Lab safety measures, collection of various samples, Lab Diagnosis of Bacterial, Fungal and Virus diseases. It was a very informative and interactive experience for the students.
Red Cross Bhopal
Students of Pathology Dept. Visited Red Cross Bhopal on 20th July 2016. Dr. O. P. Shrivastav, Director Blood Bank, Red Cross Society guided the students about the Cross Match and Blood Donation, senior technician of various divisions explained several instruments like ELISA, Automatic Analyzer, Spectrophotometer, Colorimeter, CBC analyzer etc. It was a very enriching experience for the students, along with other faculty members and HOD Manish Soni.

First Aid Training course was conducted in Paramedical Deptt. from 12th to 16th Dec.2017. The training was for the students of Ist year BMLT, BPT, B.Sc. Nursing & GNM. The trainer Dr.Krishna Vadgama, Red Cross Society, Bhopal, explained in detail about the advances of the first aid kit and how it should be prepared kit/box. The five days of training was successfully conducted for the benefit of students.
Intravenous Cannulation Course
Intravenous Cannulation Course was conducted in Paramedical Dept. From 18th to 23rd Sept. 2017. The training was for the students of Pathology & Nursing college. The trainer was Mr. Bharat Gitte, Medi Equip Enterprises, Bhopal. The six days training was successfully conducted by the dept.
