Computer Science

BCA
  • Objective:

  • It is the three year full time course to introduce the concepts of Computer Application.
  • Eligibility:

  • A Student should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) with PCM/PCB/Commerce examination from any recognized board with minimum 45% of marks in aggregate.
  • Job Prospects:

  • After acquiring the Bachelor’s Degree (BCA), there is further educational opportunity to go for an MCA or Master’s Programme at any other University/Institute. Also after completing BCA Programme, a student should be able to get entry level job in the field of Information Technology or IT Enabled Services.
B.Sc. (Computer Science)
  • Objective:

  • It is the three year full time course to study the theoretical foundations of information and computation, and the practical methods of implementation and application in computer systems.
  • Eligibility:

  • A Student should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) in science with Math’s from any recognized board with minimum 33% of marks in aggregate.
  • Job Prospects:

  • The majority of graduates in this field pursue their career as a project leaders, junior,Programmer and system analysts etc. Major employers in this field are AT&T, HP, IBM, Dell, Intel, Google, IBM, and Yahoo etc
B.Sc. (Information Technology)
  • Objective:

  • It is the three year full time course designed to provide basic inputs for a broad understanding of IT and its interfaces. The focus is on “Information Technology and Management of IT”.
  • Eligibility:

  • A Student should have passed Higher Secondary(10+2) in science with Mathematics from any recognized board with minimum 33% of marks in aggregate.
  • Job Prospects:

  • IT Industry itself is the prime recruiter. Apart from it, the Telecom Industry is also a well known recruiter. . Programming, Web designing, Software designing etc. are some skills, using which, one may start one’s own venture/freelance service/consultation service.
B.Sc. (Mathematics )
  • Objective:

  • It is the three year full time course to study varied aspects of mathematics to an advanced level, with core modules in algebra, analysis, discrete, statistics and numerical methods
  • Eligibility:

  • A Studentshould have passed HigherSecondary(10+2) in science with Maths from any recognized board with minimum 33% of marks in aggregate.
  • Job Prospects:

  • After doing B.Sc. Mathematics one can choose a lot of different streams A student with B.Sc. Maths can apply to different jobs in UPSC, SSC, Indian Forest Services, Publicsector Bank, State PCS and even in Indian Defense etc.
B.Sc. (Electronics )
  • Objective:

  • It is the three year full time course to study in the field of Electronics and Communication, Software Programming, System Analysis and Design Electrical circuits such as transistors, vacuum tubes, integrated circuits and diodes etc.
  • Eligibility:

  • A Student should have passed HigherSecondary(10+2) in science with Maths from any recognized board with minimum 33% of marks in aggregate.
  • Job Prospects:

  • Lots of job opportunities are available in private sectoron both hardware and software fields. Some of the jobs are Electronic design engineer, Technical executive, Chemical administrator &Technical support associate.
M.Sc. (Computer Science)
OBJECTIVE

It is the two year full time course to develop core competence in Computer Science and prepare the students to take up a career in the highly competitive IT industry as well as carry out research and development.

ELIGIBILITY

A Student should have passed graduation in science with Mathematics from any recognized University with minimum 50% of marks in aggregate.

JOB PROSPECTS

Some of the common areas and job profiles where these people can utilize their abilities include Database Administration, Data Analyst, Database Manage and many more IT enabled jobs.

Career Guidance
The Department also organized a guest lecture entitled ‘Career Guidance’ on 11th April, 2014. Mr. Aditya Singh Rathore, Career Specialist Org., Bhopal delivered the lecture. Students got the information of various career opportunities. The focus of interactive session was to provide career guidance/counseling to students regarding the availability of varied career option in different employment generating industries /sectors of India chosen in accordance with their previous academic track record, emerging opportunities and their individual interests, value and talent. This talk gave knowledge to the young generation regarding an opportunity to select a career well-matched with individual attributes and interests. The session improved their interpersonal skills and also helped them to achieve a brighter vision for the future.

Network Security
The Department organized a guest lecture on ‘Network Security’. Mr. Bhupendra Kapoor and his team of experts from Institute of Advanced Network Technology took this session. Students cleared their queries regarding network security, protection of oneself with regard to network security, its working pattern and the business benefits of network security. The objective of this lecture was to describe today’s increasing network security threats and to explain the need of implementation of comprehensive security policy to mitigate the threats. Moreover, general methods were explained to mitigate common security threats to network devices, hosts, and applications. They illustrated functions of common security appliances and its applications as well security recommended practices including initial steps to secure network devices.

The Dept. of Computer Science organized a Lecture on “Digital Electronics & its application” on 7th,Oct 2017. The Lecture was delivered by Dr.Sunil Mishra, Professor, IEHE Bhopal. The Guest was welcomed by Mrs. Swarna Sinha HOD Computer Science Dept. .The guest Lecture is a part of the B. Sc I (CS) & III (Electronics) Semester Curriculum. The objective of this Guest Lecture was to enlighten the students with the basic knowledge of “Digital Electronics and its application”. It helped the students to understand Binary Number which is used in Digital Electronics System, Logic Gates and Flip Flop. This lecture was very knowledgeable.

On 30th October 2017, Department of Computer Science visited to Meteorological Science Centre, Arera Hills, with the students of B.Sc. (Electronics) 1st Year and 3rd Semester. Where the Resource Person was Mr. G.D. Mishra (Meteorologist-A). He gave information to students about various aspects of “Doppler Radar System, Radaition System etc., in which he explained the various topics such as humidity, heavy rain fall, weather forecasting guidance to farmers about Crops and change in Climate. Apart from Mr. Mishra , Mr. Wahid Khan (Scientific Officer),Mr. Vivek (Asst. Scientist) had also given information on various aspects of Climate and its changing conditions. In the end Mr. Mishra (Meteorologist-A) was honored by Mr. S.S.Rajput and Mr. Jitendra Suryawanshi (Faculties of Computer Science Department).

Department of Computer Science organized an Industrial visit to "Crompton Greaves", Mandideep for final year UG and PG students. The visit started with an informative session delivered by Mr. Umesh Patil, Deputy Manager, Quality Assurance, Crompton Greaves described students about basic and advance features of "Transformer" with the students. This session was followed by a visit to various sections of the factory, where different units of transformer are built and assembled. Mr. Siddhartha Raghuwanshi, Head Manager, Quality Assurance, Crompton Greaves explained various important aspects of testing process to students. It was an excellent opportunity for our students to understand the whole building process of a transformer. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Siddhath Raghuwanshi and Mr. Umesh Patil for their overwhelming co-operation.

We organized a one-day visit under Institutional Social Responsibility to Jawahar Lal Nehru Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal on 4th April 2017 where in students and faculty members distributed fruits and donated blood to cancer patients. Students were made aware of the symptoms of cancer and precautions to be taken to prevent this disease.

Dept. of Computer Science, Career College, Bhopal in association with NGO- “ Helping Hands Group ” , Bhopal celebrated “ World Literacy Day ” by organizing Computer Awareness Program for the school students on 08/09/2017. More than 35 students of different schools participated in this awareness program. Mr. Mohd Rashid, (Asst. Professor) conducted a training session on the basics of Computer, its usage in different domains, various input-output devices and paint toolbar etc. A quiz was conducted in which students activity participated and won many prizes.

Dept. of Computer Science, Career College, visited “Government Middle School Anand Marg”, Security Line, Bhopal on 8th Sept 2018 on the occasion of “World Literacy Day”. 20 students of M.Sc (CS)-I semester, M.Sc (CS)-III semester and BCA-IInd year participated in the event with the aim to create awareness amongst school students about “Swachh Bharat Mission” a Flagship Program of Government of India. Students & faculty of dept conducted a “Drawing and Painting Competition” for the school students on the said theme that is “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”. Prizes were given to the winners. Chocolates and paper bags were also distributed to the students in the school.

International Conference on “Make in India: An opportunity for sustainable Entrepreneurship Development” was organized by the Department of Computer Science, Commerce and Management, , Green Cluster and Training and Placement Cell and is Co-organized by Madhya Pradesh Consultancy (MPCON),The Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Computer Society of India (CSI), Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay, Journal of Pharma & Bio Sciences, International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research Academy, Circulation in Computer Science on 16th-17th Feb. 2017 in Career College. The Conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Prof. Mohan Lal Chheepa, Vice Chancellor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Hindi Vishwavidayalaya, Bhopal and Dr. U. N. Shukla, Registrar, Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Shri Vishnu Rajoria, Founder Chairman, Career Society, Shri Ashish Rajoria, Secretary, Career Society along with HODs of BU and Principals of other colleges attended the inaugural session. Mr. Alok Mathur, co-founder of ‘Soul Tree’, (The biggest Indian wine brand in UK) and one of the fastest growing Indian wines in the world delivered a keynote address on how Indian youth can contribute globally in sustaining the growth of entrepreneurship development. Mr. Parth Dey, Global Product Manager, Generator, GE Power, USA talked about self-reliance: Make in India, not an option but a necessity. Mr. Uttam Ganguly, Managing Director, Bend Joints Pvt., Ltd. threw light on several other initiatives of the Government that will have medium and long range impact on the future of our country. The conference was multi-disciplinary comprising of four Technical Sessions of diverse areas to incorporate the different sectors of Make in India campaign. The first Technical Session of Commerce and Management was chaired by Prof. S. K. Khatik, Chairman Board of studies, Commerce, BU, Bhopal. Prof K. V. Bhanu Murthy, Head, Dept. of Commerce, Delhi University gave insight about Global environmental degradation. Dr. S. K. Bharal, Professor &Head, Dept. of Commerce, Ujjain spoke about “startup India and standup India”. The second Technical Session of Anthropology and Social Sciences was chaired by Dr. H. B. Gupta HOD, Economics, Excellence College, Bhopal. He gave an insight about “inflow of FDI in India”. Dr. Preeti Sharma, Associate Professor, IIT, Indore, talked about “Make in India: Thinking green production and consumption”. The third Technical Session of Technology and Physical Sciences was chaired by Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Chairman Board of Studies, Computer Science, BU, Bhopal. Ms. Priyanka Shroff, Training Coordinator, MP, Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT, Bombay, spoke about how open source software helps in enhancing the sustainable development of Digital India. Dr. M. A. Rizvi, Professor and Head, Dept. of Computer Application, NITTTR, Bhopal gave a lecture on “Role of Mobile Adhoc network in the make in India”. The fourth Technical Session of Medical and Life Sciences was chaired by Prof. Vinoy Shrivastava HOD, Bio Science, BU, Bhopal. Dr. Sant Kumar Bhatnagar Director, Bio-Medical Research Centre, Gwalior, delivered a talk on “Make in India, a successful approach in climate change and cancer disease in India”. Dr. Ruchi Sharma, Associate Professor, IIT, Indore, threw light on Make in India and Innovate in India: Evidence from Indian Pharmaceutical sector. Delegates from UK, America and Saudi Arabia participated in the conference. We were able to cover more than 10 states such as Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka to name a few. App. 24 districts of India spread across the length and breadth of the country also showed their presence by participating in the conference. We received app. 450 abstracts and 125 research papers. Besides this, 700+ participants from different backgrounds and different walks of life be it Industrialist, Academicians, Research scholars, Students, Teachers, Entrepreneurs attended this conference in large numbers and helped us in our endeavor to achieve new bench marks of success. The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by honorable Chief Guest Prof. Tariq Zafar Vice Chancellor, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University. The awards for Young Scientists and Oral Research Paper Presentations were sponsored by ‘Indian Society for Technical Education’. The prizes for Poster Competitions were sponsored by ISCA, Bhopal chapter.

SCILAb : Spoken Tutorial
Career College Bhopal has organized a Faculty Development programme on Scilab Software on 12 Sept., 2017. The purpose of this FDP was to popularize Scilab Software developed by IIT Bombay entitled as spoken Tutorial Project. Hon’ble Prof. Kannan Moudgalya, IIT Bombay and Member, Standing Committee, National Mission of Education Through ICT gave information about the objective of Spoken Tutorial Project, how these Audio-Video teaching tools can be used to teach a variety of software available as free resource and enhance the employability of students. Use of Scilab to provide software skills with both employment as well as academic focus.
