A "Cancer Awareness Drive" was conducted on 13th Feb. 2016 in Bhojpur Village, Raisen (MP). Students of M.Sc. and B. Sc performed a street play comprising of group performance along with acting and song sequences. The audience often burst out into a round of applause and appreciation for the performers.

Visit to Aarushi
A visit to ‘Aarushi’, (a NGO for physically challenged children) was organized on 15th Sept. 2015 for B.Sc. I Sem. students to develop a sense of social responsibility among them. The students spent a day with physically challenged children of Aarushi & got to know about the limitations and abilities of these special children and also got an insight that they are no less than normal children in any way. It awakened the student’s sensitivity towards other streams of society. It was a commendable effort on part of our students towards ‘Divyang’.

Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal.
We organized a one-day visit under Institutional Social Responsibility to Jawahar Lal Nehru Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal on 4th April 2017 where in students and faculty members distributed fruits and donated blood to cancer patients. Students were made aware of the symptoms of cancer and precautions to be taken to prevent this disease.

Nukkad Natak for against the use Polythenes
A social visit to Anna Nagar slum had been organized by Dept. of Chemistry on 25th Feb. 2017. The students explained the importance of personal hygiene and environmental conservation to the people by presenting a Nukkad Natak. The activity also emphasized against the use polythenes and thus support the movement initiated by government. Students were quite excited and tried to create awareness among the people of slum area and were hopeful of bringing about a positive change in their mindset.

It is a matter of immense pleasure that Dept. of Chemistry and Dept. of Library Science had organized a social visit to slum area of Anna Nagar, Govindpura in the month of Nov. 2016. The purpose of visit was to share love and spread happiness among the poor children. Dept. of Zoology and NSS jointly arranged Awareness Drive titled "Balanced Diet: Today’s Necessity "on 12th Sept. 2016. Dept. of Chemistry in collaboration with Dept. of Pathology and Dept. of Library & Information Science had conducted the ISR Activity on 12th Apr. 2018 at Govt. Middle School, Security line, Govindpura, Bhopal. The activity was aimed to make Government school children aware of nutritional value of a diet. During the activity body weight, height was examined. They were explained about the importance of eating a balanced diet for the proper growth and development of the body. Event Report: Awareness programme on health and hygiene of females
Department of Commerce and Management organized an awareness programme on health and hygiene of females on April 2, 2018. This activity was aimed to create awareness regarding menstrual hygiene’s importance and use of sanitary napkins, so that chronic diseases can be prevented in the rural areas. Usage of sanitary napkins’s is virtually absent in rural areas. Poor menstrual hygiene can cause cervical cancer, infertility, fungal infections etc. To spread awareness on sanitation related issues 31 girl students participated accompanied by 8 female faculties. 82 sanitary napkins were distributed under this programme.

Safe- Drive campaign for Girls in association with Rajpal Honda WEC organized “Safe- Drive” campaign for girls in association with Rajpal Honda on the occasion of “National Girl Child Day”. The Dept. of Physiotherapy organised a free Physiotherapy camp on 21 Dec. 2017. At Arya Bhawan, Gautam Nagar, Bhopal. Approx. 70 patients attended this camp. Visit to Anand Dham Ashram
Old age is housing for elderly citizens who are now abandoned by their kins and families and force to live away from their home. Elderly people want affection and interaction which they do not get from their families. Keeping this in mind, Department of Commerce & Management organised a visit to old age Anand Dham Ashram on December 19, 2017 with the motive to sensitize students about the predicaments and problems of aged people. Students interacted with the elderly to get insights about their daily routine, their experience of life. Elderly people were very happy with this visit; they showered their blessings and gave valuable advice to the students on how they should live a meaningful life.

WORLD AIDS DAY PROGRAM
On 1st Dec 2017 Dept. of Biotechnology and Biochemistry, Women Empowerment Cell, NCC and NSS organized an AIDS Awareness Rally and a Nukkad Natak on the occasion of “World AIDS Day” in Ekta Nagar Basti. People worldwide unite to fight against HIV/AIDS as this epidemic is spreading exponentially specially in developing and underdeveloped countries. The students participated in a rally and performed nukkad natak on the theme “Say No To HIV and AIDS”. The need of the hour is to create awareness about HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), raise money and also educate the masses about this disease, its symptoms, precautions to be taken and also about its prevention.

Dept. of Chemistry and Dept. of Library and Information Science has celebrated “Joy of Giving” and distributed sweets, toys, lunch boxes and clothesas a part of ISR activity program as Diwali celebration for Orphan / Semi Orphan children and Widow Women with Vihaan Care MPNP+& Support Program in Madhya Pradesh at ART Center, Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal on 13/10/17. The activity ‘Joy of Giving’ gave a satisfaction for the blessings by god to be in position to help underprivileged people and brought smile to their faces. Around 30 students of M.Sc. Chemistry joined hands in the venture.

Dept. of Computer Science, Career College, Bhopal in association with NGO- “ Helping Hands Group ” , Bhopal celebrated “ World Literacy Day ” by organizing Computer Awareness Program for the school students on 08/09/2017. Department of Chemistry along with Department of Library Science and N.S.S. celebrated 125th Birthday of Dr. S.R. Rangathan (Father of library Science) on 12th Aug 2017. Dept. of Chemistry and Library & Information Science organized an awareness rally to create an awareness among the mass about our right to cast vote on 27th Mar. 2019. Holi Celebration
Dept. of Chemistry & Dept. of Library and Information Science had organised an ISR activity at Boys Hostel Habibia, Railway Station on 18th March 2019. The activity was aimed to create awareness amongst the children about the harm caused by chemical colors and conservation of water by avoiding its wastage during Holi Festival as well to share happiness among the homeless children of the hostel. Herbal colours are safe in all respects and add beauty and delight to the festival of colours. Students of Career College interacted with the children distributed sweets and celebrated Holi with Herbal Gulal on this occasion. Students developed a sense of responsibility towards deprived children of society and promised to keep helping them to the best of their abilities.

National Girl Child Day
WEC and Dept. of Biotechnology and Biochemistry in association with “Uddip Welfare Society and Swacchand Mission” organized an awareness program on “PCOD and Menstrual Hygiene”. Dr. Sangeeta Singh (Gynecologist, Mrs. India Earth, (Mrs. Intelligence) and Social Activist) and students of Career College promoted a unique cause i.e. awareness in women about very personal hygiene during menstrual period. They not only interacted with the women of Ekta Nagar, but also educated the women on menstrual hygiene, PCOD also distributed sanitary napkins.

Sambhavna Trust Clinic
The Dept. of Commerce and Management organized a visit to ‘Sambhavna Trust Clinic’ at J.P. Nagar, Bhopal on 16th Jan. 2019 for B.Com. VI Semester students. The prime objective of this visit was to sensitize the students with the world’s deadliest industrial disaster till date. The trust works exclusively and remarkably for the survivors of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The Managing Trustee Shri Satinath Sarangi interacted with the students and set forth many ground realities about which we are still ignorant. In addition to this, the students also visited the ‘Remember Bhopal Museum’ which highlights the tragic glimpses of the deadly disaster.

Sparsh Bharat Mission
Dept. of Chemistry along with NSS unit of Career College organized an “Awareness Programme” dated 8th Dec.2018 on substance abuse (alcohol/drugs) by a nonprofit Christian organization, ”Angelo” (ICPF) under “Sparsh Bharat Mission”. The programme conveyed a strong message against drug/alcohol abuse through an excellent PPT and enacted musical drama by the members of ‘Angelo’. It beautifully depicts the ill effects of the addiction of tobacco, alcohol, drug and also internet. More than 150 students and faculty members were involved in the program. After the programme, the students gave oral feedback about their experience and pledged to stop such abuse practices prevalent in society for human growth.

Worlds AIDS Day
On 1st December 2018 Department of Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Women’s Empowerment Cell in association of with Family Planning Association of India, Bhopal organized World AIDS day. Ms. Neha Dharmadhikari, Field Coordinator, Japan Trust Fund, Family planning, Shivaji Nagar, Bhopal along with our students and faculty members organized Nukkad Natak at Ekta Nagar Slum on the theme “Know your Status”. Students distributed red ribbons and sweets and explained how AIDS can be prevented and how HIV patients should be treated with humanity instead of being banned from the society. People appreciated the efforts and learned how HIV spreads and how AIDS can be prevented.

On 16th October 2018 a social work was conducted in Nabibagh Village, Bhopal. The activity included speeches by students and teachers which addressed cleanliness issues in village, Swach Bharat Abhiyan and importance of hygiene and cleanliness among children. The village residents attended the said campaign .The students explained Swatch Bharat Abhiyan through self-painted posters for better understanding of the topic. Dept. of Zoology organized a Social visit to Matrachhaya, Sewa Bharti, Hosangabad Road Bhopal on 1st Oct. 2018 for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students. World Non Violence Day’
2nd Oct 2018 is marked as International Day of Non-Violence, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, Leader of the India’s Independence Movement and a pioneer of non-violence. To celebrate this event, Dept of Biotechnology and biochemistry organized a Poster Competition on 1st Oct 2018 in which students participated in large numbers. It was based on the theme “Non-violence and World Peace”. Students participated and presented their posters with great enthusiasm. In this competition Nishu Singh BSc Biotech II year, Muskan Sahu of Bsc Biotech I year and Anjali Kadam Bsc Biotech II year bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd Position respectively. Consolation prizes were also given to Yash Kumar Mehra, Priyanshu Uikey and Sujeet Raikwar of BSC Biotech I year. Principal, Career College, Dr. P.N. Tiwari highly appreciated the efforts of the students and shared his views on non- violence and spreading peace. Principal Career College & School of Nursing Mrs. Soney Toppo was the judge of the competition she really appreciated the efforts and creativity of students. Students enjoyed and learned the role of nonviolence in maintaining peace and how to imbibe the same in their lives and spread peace everywhere.

WORLD HEART DAY
Cardiovascular disease is world’s number one killer today and the most common reason for this disease is the lack of exercise, intake of fast food and unhealthy lifestyle. To make everyone aware of this on 29th September 2018 “Cardiovascular mini marathon with Ubuntu” was organized by Ubuntu heart hospital. Our students participated in the mini marathon and they learned that acrobatics like Zumba can help in keeping their heart healthy and that too while enjoying life every moment. Our students distributed fruits to the senior citizens and also explained the importance of yoga in staying healthy and keeping the heart strong and thus leading an energetic life.

Dept. of Computer Science, Career College, visited “Government Middle School Anand Marg”, Security Line, Bhopal on 8th Sept 2018 on the occasion of “World Literacy Day”. 20 students of M.Sc (CS)-I semester, M.Sc (CS)-III semester and BCA-IInd year participated in the event with the aim to create awareness amongst school students about “Swachh Bharat Mission” a Flagship Program of Government of India. Students & faculty of dept conducted a “Drawing and Painting Competition” for the school students on the said theme that is “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”. Prizes were given to the winners. Chocolates and paper bags were also distributed to the students in the school.

September is observed as "Polycystic ovary Disorder (PCOD)" awareness month. PCOD is a Hormonal Disorder in women and one of the most common reasons for Infertility among women. To spread awareness about causes, symptoms, Prevention and remedies Dept. of Biotechnology and Biochemistry and Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) organized an awareness program for girls of Govt. Mahatma Gandhi H.S. School, BHEL, Bhopal on 8th Sep 2018, where Miss TanujaMurab and DrNidhiGujar explained how to detect and prevent PCOD by natural means. Students of Govt. Mahatma Gandhi H S School interacted with the faculties and gained indepth knowledge of this problem and its precautions that can prevent its occurence

A total of 150 students of Govt. Mahatma Gandhi Higher School, BHEL Bhopal participated in the program. The Principal of the School Dr. Poonam Praksah Agrawal presented letter of appreciation to Dept. of Biotechnology and Biochemistry for enlightening the students for the importance of literacy.

Dept. of Zoology in collaboration with Green Cluster, N.C.C and N.S.S organized a ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ in the college campus on 21st Sept. 2019. It started with ‘Oath Taking Ceremony’ on Swachhata and thereafter, students of both UG & PG classes of all streams cleaned the campus of Career College.

‘International Ozone Layer Preservation Day’ was celebrated by Department of Chemistry, NCC & NSS in association with Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Govt. of India) on 16th September 2019. On the occasion, rangoli competition on ‘Science & Technology for Sustainable Environment’ and movie making on ‘Green Advocacy’ was organised to commemorate the day. Students participated with full enthusiasm to show their concern towards environment conservation. Dr. Yogendra Saxena, Sr. Scientist, Central Pollution Control Board who was the Chief Guest gave thought provoking ideas and information to conserve the environment. Our Alumnee Dr. Ranu Chouksey, Scientist CPCB was also present as a special guest. She has developed a procedure to dispose off POP idols and how to use the left over as manure. The practice has been adopted by Nagar Nigam, Bhopal and is proving successful. Nagar Nigam also joined and pledged to work for cleanliness and thereby contribute towards environmental preservation.

Dept. of Zoology in collaboration with WEC organized a poster competition on the occasion of International Literacy Day on 7th Sept.2019. The topic of competition was "Literacy and Empowerment" Students of Life Science participated in this competition. Winners were awarded prizes. Certificates were given to all the participants.

Buzurgo ka Saaya
Department of Chemistry, Department of Library & Information Science and NCC/NSS Cell organized an ‘Institutional Social Responsibility’ activity under the title, ‘Buzurgo ka Saaya, Hai Sarmaya’ at Anand Dham Vradhashram. The aim of the activity was to comfort the lonely old age people by spending quality time with them. Approximately 50 students willingly participated, shared their thoughts with them, and even sang songs to please them. An old man shared his opinion and experiences of the old age home. Our students were full of tears and pledged to serve all the elderly members of society and family to the best of their ability. We all should try to create a society with no old age homes but with pleasant homes along with the blessings of elderly family members.
