Dept. of Physiotherapy conducted a state level workshop on “Sacroiliac Dysfunction.” Dr. Sanjiv Jha was invited as the guest speaker. He demonstrated various Manual Therapy Techniques which can be utilized to treat SI joint Dysfunction. Students who participated in this 2-day workshop got an opportunity to learn how to assess, diagnose & treat the patients with SI joint dysfunction.

Techniques in Genetic Engineering
The Dept. of Microbiology conducted a 3-Day Workshop cum Training Program on Techniques in Genetic engineering from 17th Sept to 19th Sept 2014 for outside as well as Career College students. The workshop aimed to provide basic idea and the future prospects in the field of Genetic Engineering, production of genetically modified organisms, ethical issues and general practices in the industrial as well as social arena. The students were exposed to the latest trends and techniques with the help of practical hands-on instrument handling clubbed with videos and lectures. The whole workshop was taken up by the faculty members of the Department of Microbiology- Mrs. Reena Antony (HOD), Dr. Tilottama Choudhury and Dr. Poonam Singh. The occasion was graced by the presence on Principal Dr. P.N Tiwari.

Bonsai techniques
Workshop on Bonsai techniques is a regular practice of the Department of Botany. This year a workshop on THE SECRET TECHNIQUES OF BONSAI was conducted by Department of Botany on 15/09/2014.The resource persons were Dr. Santosh Chaudhary, Eye specialist Katju Hospital Bhopal and President of Bonsai Society of M.P. Miss Anuradha Athotra, Vice President of Bonsai society of M.P. Approximately 35 students from UG, PG classes and Research Scholars from other institutes attended the workshop. Students prepared a project report on the workshop. The workshop was well appreciated by everyone present.

Creation and Maintenance of Aquarium
Three days Entrepreneurship Development Programme on “Creation and Maintenance of Aquarium” was conducted from 30th March 2016 to 1st April 2016 for B.Sc IV Sem. students. Nearly 30 students participated. The resource person was Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta, Alumni of Career College batch 2010-13.The aim of the programme was to enhance the different skills amongst students related to become entrepreneur in the field of creation of Aquarium, its maintenance, diet of fish, disease of fish, types of aquarium and many more. On the last day of training, Aquarium was purchased by faculty members to motivate our students by developing the sense of ‘Earn while you Learn’.

First Aid
Department of Physiotherapy organized a ‘Short Term Module Course’ on ‘Basic First Aid’ in collaboration with Red Cross Society, from 8th March 2016 to 12th March 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The students received basic training on the First Aid Management of various emergency conditions such as RTA, burns; causalities etc. Approx. 42 students attended the training program which included separate sessions for theory as well as practical classes. Students were given training on how to tie bandage, splinting, transfer and immobilization of various casualty patients.

Environment and Technology Innovations 2016
Two day National Seminar on “Environment and Technology Innovations 2016” was organized by Dept. of Botany, Career College on 5th and 6th Feb. 2016. This Seminar was sponsored by EPCO, Bhopal and MPCST, Bhopal and in collaboration with ISCA. The Seminar commenced with the Inaugural Ceremony which entailed the customary practice of lighting the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana recital by the students. The dais was marked by the presence of esteemed Hon’ble Chief Guest Prof Murlidhar Tiwari, Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah University Bhopal, Guest of Honour Dr. Ajatshatru Shrivastava, Executive Director EPCO Bhopal, Dr. Akhilesh Pandey, Chairman MP Private University Regulatory Commission Bhopal, Dr. Santosh Kumar Ex VC Barkatullah University Bhopal, Dr. JP Shukla, Convenor Indian Science Congress Association Bhopal Chapter, Shri Vishnu Rajoria Patron and Founder Chairman Governing Body Career Society Bhopal and Dr. P N Tiwari Principal Career College Bhopal. The welcome address was given by Shri Vishnu Rajoria, Patron and Chairman Governing Body, Career Group of Institutes and Prof. PN Tiwari Principal .They welcomed the dignitaries, Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other participants. Chief Guest was presented a sapling by Mr. Manish Rajoria, Vice President Career Society Bhopal, Mr. Ashish Rajoria, Secretary Career Society Bhopal, Prof Pradeep Jain, Director Career Group of Institutions Bhopal and Joint Organising Secretaries of Seminar Dr. Ruchi Acharya and Dr. Bhawna Sharma. Objective and theme was discussed by Dr. Jaswinder Mehta, HOD, Dept. of Botany and organizing secretary of Seminar. In her address, she outlined the details of the Seminar. The ceremony further continued with our Chief Guest address sharing his wisdom and years of experience by imparting necessary expertise regarding Environment. Vote of thanks of inaugural session was given by Dr. Jaswinder Mehta, HOD Dept. of Botany. First session of Seminar was chaired by Dr. Jamalluddin, Emeritus Scientist Rani Durgawati University Jabalpur. Expert talk was given by Dr. Arun Om Prakash Arya, HOD; Dept. of Environmental Sciences Dr. Arun gave a lecture on ‘Innovative methods to manage fungal bio-pollutants posing threat to plants, human beings and cultural heritage’. He highlighted on six common pollutants. Second session was chaired by Dr. Suchitra Banerjee, Prof and HOD, Dept. of Biotechnology Institute of Excellence in Higher Education, Bhopal and Keynote Speaker was Dr. Saroj Rangrekar, Prof MANIT Bhopal. In her lecture she gave an overview on Energy Scenario –Renewable energy options issues and challenges, Issues related preserve fossil fuels, Present power scenario, total renewable energy power supply condition in India, biogas plant and she also gave information about zero building a panel in which LED light was used. Third Session was chaired by Dr. Pratibha Singh, HOD, Dept. of Botany, Sarojini Naidu Govt. Girls PG College Bhopal and the speaker was Dr. OP Madguni, Prof, Indian Institute of Forest Management Bhopal. Dr. Madguni expressed his view on Biodegradable Waste in Bhopal and Biodegradable plants. Next invited speaker was Dr. AL Ramanathan, Prof, School of Environmental Sciences, Jawahar Lal Nehru University Delhi. Dr. A.L Ramanathan focused on Climate Change and Glacier Dynamics. Fourth session was Chaired By Dr. Kirti Jain, HOD, Department of Botany, Govt, Benajeer College Bhopal and Invited talk was given by Dr. Jamalludin on bioreclamation of mine spoils. Poster and oral presentations were done by Students, Research Scholars and Professors. About 15 research papers were presented and 40 young scientists presented their views through the medium of poster also. In Poster Presentation - • Research Scholar Category- First prize was grabbed by Aliba Rawat from Jawahar Lal Nehru Cancer Hospital Bhopal. • Second prize- won by Gresh Chander and Basharat Ali from Jawahar Lal Nehru Cancer Hospital Bhopal. • Student category- First prize was won by Kusum Tanwar and Smriti Rohilla from Regional Institute of Education Bhopal, • Second prize- won by Sharmishta Dwivedi and Priya Sharma from IET DAVV Indore. • Third prize- won by Arpit Sarawgi and Piyush from DAVV Indore. In Oral Presentation - • Professor category- First prize was won by Dr N Ganesh, JNCH Bhopal. • Second prize- Grabbed by Dr Sunil Singh, Govt College Kuwai. • Third prize- won by Dr Sugandha Singh, Sant Hirdaram Girls College Bairagarh, Bhopal. Research Scholar Category- • First prize- won by Ms Sarah Ali from IIFM Bhopal, Ms Ritu Verma, Cancer Hospital Bhopal • Second prize- won by Mrs Alibha Rawat, JNCH Bhopal. Prizes were distributed by Chief Guest of Valedictory Programme Prof KS Tiwari, Director Indira Gandhi National Open University, Mr. Ashish Rajoria, Secretary Career Society, Dr. PN Tiwari, Principal Career College, Prof Pradeep Jain, Director Career group of institutions and Prof J P Vyas Principal Career College of Law. On this occasion all the College staff and around 450 delegates, research scholars and students were present.

International Conference on “Make in India: An opportunity for sustainable Entrepreneurship Development” was organized by the Department of Computer Science, Commerce and Management, , Green Cluster and Training and Placement Cell and is Co-organized by Madhya Pradesh Consultancy (MPCON),The Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Computer Society of India (CSI), Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay, Journal of Pharma & Bio Sciences, International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research Academy, Circulation in Computer Science on 16th-17th Feb. 2017 in Career College. The Conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Prof. Mohan Lal Chheepa, Vice Chancellor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Hindi Vishwavidayalaya, Bhopal and Dr. U. N. Shukla, Registrar, Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Shri Vishnu Rajoria, Founder Chairman, Career Society, Shri Ashish Rajoria, Secretary, Career Society along with HODs of BU and Principals of other colleges attended the inaugural session. Mr. Alok Mathur, co-founder of ‘Soul Tree’, (The biggest Indian wine brand in UK) and one of the fastest growing Indian wines in the world delivered a keynote address on how Indian youth can contribute globally in sustaining the growth of entrepreneurship development. Mr. Parth Dey, Global Product Manager, Generator, GE Power, USA talked about self-reliance: Make in India, not an option but a necessity. Mr. Uttam Ganguly, Managing Director, Bend Joints Pvt., Ltd. threw light on several other initiatives of the Government that will have medium and long range impact on the future of our country. The conference was multi-disciplinary comprising of four Technical Sessions of diverse areas to incorporate the different sectors of Make in India campaign. The first Technical Session of Commerce and Management was chaired by Prof. S. K. Khatik, Chairman Board of studies, Commerce, BU, Bhopal. Prof K. V. Bhanu Murthy, Head, Dept. of Commerce, Delhi University gave insight about Global environmental degradation. Dr. S. K. Bharal, Professor &Head, Dept. of Commerce, Ujjain spoke about “startup India and standup India”. The second Technical Session of Anthropology and Social Sciences was chaired by Dr. H. B. Gupta HOD, Economics, Excellence College, Bhopal. He gave an insight about “inflow of FDI in India”. Dr. Preeti Sharma, Associate Professor, IIT, Indore, talked about “Make in India: Thinking green production and consumption”. The third Technical Session of Technology and Physical Sciences was chaired by Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Chairman Board of Studies, Computer Science, BU, Bhopal. Ms. Priyanka Shroff, Training Coordinator, MP, Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT, Bombay, spoke about how open source software helps in enhancing the sustainable development of Digital India. Dr. M. A. Rizvi, Professor and Head, Dept. of Computer Application, NITTTR, Bhopal gave a lecture on “Role of Mobile Adhoc network in the make in India”. The fourth Technical Session of Medical and Life Sciences was chaired by Prof. Vinoy Shrivastava HOD, Bio Science, BU, Bhopal. Dr. Sant Kumar Bhatnagar Director, Bio-Medical Research Centre, Gwalior, delivered a talk on “Make in India, a successful approach in climate change and cancer disease in India”. Dr. Ruchi Sharma, Associate Professor, IIT, Indore, threw light on Make in India and Innovate in India: Evidence from Indian Pharmaceutical sector. Delegates from UK, America and Saudi Arabia participated in the conference. We were able to cover more than 10 states such as Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka to name a few. App. 24 districts of India spread across the length and breadth of the country also showed their presence by participating in the conference. We received app. 450 abstracts and 125 research papers. Besides this, 700+ participants from different backgrounds and different walks of life be it Industrialist, Academicians, Research scholars, Students, Teachers, Entrepreneurs attended this conference in large numbers and helped us in our endeavor to achieve new bench marks of success. The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by honorable Chief Guest Prof. Tariq Zafar Vice Chancellor, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University. The awards for Young Scientists and Oral Research Paper Presentations were sponsored by ‘Indian Society for Technical Education’. The prizes for Poster Competitions were sponsored by ISCA, Bhopal chapter.

Skill Development cum Short Term Certificate Course was organized by Dept. of Chemistry from 13th to 15th Feb. 2017. On the first day of the three day event, students learnt about the QSAR basics and hand on practice on Chemsketch Software; the skill was taught by Dr. Shweta Sharma. On the second day, a lecture was delivered by Dr. Bashirullah Sheik from NITTTR, Bhopal on the topic, “QSAR and Applications”. On the third day, Dr. Anita K gave lecture and practice on DRAGON and NCSS software.

With great enthusiasm Dept. of Chemistry had organized a ‘Two Day Skill Development Program’ on the topic, “Photochemical Extraction & Identification By Spectrophotometry And Estimation By Flame Photometry” in collaboration with SCAN Lab on 5th - 6th Dec. 2016. Mr. Prabhat Jain, Director Scan Lab, was the Resource Person. Students of M. Sc. Chemistry & B. Sc. V Sem. participated in the program and learnt about the Spectrophotometry and Flame Photometry with reference to Phytochemical Analysis and identification of organic compound present in plant species specifically Phenols and Flavonoids. Students are immensely benefitted by such hands on training given to them by the dept from time to time.

Vermiculture
Two days Skill Development Certificate Programme on ‘Vermiculture’ was organized on 24th Oct. 2016 to 25th Oct. 2016. Dr. Rajani Gautam gave the welcome address. App. 70 students attended the programme which was initiated by Mr. Ajay Patidar. He has received “Van Aushidhi Krishi Ratan” award from State Govt. of M.P. He has set up a production plant that manufactures organic fertilizers and pesticides. He provides free consultancy and his business is spread far & wide in M.P. This makes him a successful Entrepreneur. For evaluation purpose, a written test was also conducted next day. All the students participated out of which ten best students will be selected. They will further carry out this activity by going to different places around Bhopal to make the public aware of biofertilizers and its utility.

Two days ‘Skill Development Programme’ was conducted on 19th-20th Sept. 2016 for UG and PG students. First day topic of the Programme was ‘Nursery Development, Management and Propagation Techniques’. The resource person was Dr R.S. Yadav, Ex Director Horticulture Dept. Students were imparted knowledge of Polyhouse, hybrid seeds and propagation techniques. Second day Programme was on ‘Bonsai Techniques’. Students learnt about the different types, styles and preparation of Bonsai etc. Resource Persons were Dr. Santosh Chaudhary, President, Bonsai Society of M.P. and Mr. Yogesh Nirgudkar, Bonsai expert and member of Bonsai Society of M.P. Dr. P. N. Tiwari, Principal and Professor Pradeep Jain, Director, Career College welcomed the dignitaries with saplings and blessed the students with their motivational words. Dr. Jaswinder Mehta HOD discussed the theme of the programme that was very well appreciated by all presence.

The on - field sports management tips were also given to the students Approx. 68 students and therapists attended the workshop. The basic concept of dry needling was also taught to the students.

Department of Physiotherapy organized a Short Term Module Course on ‘Yoga for Diabetes’ for BPT IInd & IIIrd year on 20th July 2016. Dr. Saurav Kushwah (PT) demonstrated various ‘asanas’ to the students & explained to them about the physiological & therapeutic effect of the same. Students also got to know about the various asanas to be done in Diabetes.

Analysis and Testing of Lubricants
Skill Development cum Short Term Certificate Course was organized by Dept. of Chemistry from 20/04/18 to 25/04/18 in collaboration with University Institute of Technology, Barkatullah University, Bhopal. The course started with a brief introduction lecture by Dr. Ruchi Dubey Sharma, Dept. of Chemistry on 20/04/18 about ‘Properties of Lubricant, Testing of Properties and Analytical Applications’. An insight into basic instrumentation, principle, and procedure was explained to students for testing of lubricants. On 21/04/18, Dr. Suparna Ghosh and Dr. Shweta Sharma gave practical demonstration to examine various properties of oil(s) which make them suitable to be used as lubricant and to check adulterations. Students got hands on practice on 24/04/18 & 25/04/18 for ‘Analysis and Testing of Lubricants’ at University Institute of Technology, Barkatullah University, Bhopal where Dr. Sulbha Amlathe, HOD, Applied Science, UIT, BU extended her expertise to students and facilitate them to work in lab. The course was aimed to enhance analytical skills among the students and to enable them to become proficient in industrial techniques.

Short Term Course - Basic First Aid - 16 Dec. 2017 Dept. of Physiotherapy organized a Short Term Course on “Basics of First Aid”, in collaboration with Red Cross Society. The 5 - days course was commenced on 12th Dec. 2017 & ended on 16th Dec. 2017. The students were given basic training as of how to attend a patient in an emergency condition when there is no medical aid available. Students also learned how to assess a patient in medical urgency. The students have explained the practical applications.

A Bonsai Workshop was organized by Dept. of Botany on 16th Sept. 2017. The workshop was started by paying tribute to late Smt. Upkar Rajoria Ji (founder of the Bonsai Garden of the college). This was followed by the presentation on Bonsai Techniques given by Dr. Santosh Choudhary, President of Bonsai Society of M.P. During the workshop the students of various streams learnt about the selection of appropriate pots to grow the plants, soil preparation, its proper cutting, care and maintenance. Students prepared many Bonsai Plants by taking into account a proper combination of soil for preparation of Bonsai Plants. The Bonsai expert also explained how a piece of rock, cluster of stones etc. can be converted in to useful pots for making beautiful Bonsais’.

Dept of Zoology organized two days value-added Certificate Programme on ‘Vermiculture’ dated 13th Feb. and 14th Feb. 2019. The resource person was Mr. Ajay Patidar, owner of Sanwaria Farm House, Bhopal and also a successful entrepreneur. B.Sc. 1st year students participated in the program and gained practical as well as theoretical knowledge about Vermicompost. Vermicompost contains water-soluble nutrients and is an excellent, nutrient-rich organic fertilizer and soil conditioner. It is very useful in agriculture as it is a sustainable bio-fertilizer used in organic farming.

Department of Biotechnology and Biochemistry organized a six days training program in association with Herb Veda from 7th January to 12th January 2019 for BSc. I year students. This program focused on the development of Herbal Products such as Herbal Oil, Aloe vera gel, Herbal Soap, Rose Water, various types of Facepacks, Lip Balm etc. The aim of this training was to develop entrepreneurial and marketing skills. A 3-Day Workshop on Mushroom Cultivation was organized by Dept. of Microbiology from 29th Oct 2018 to 31st Oct 2018. An expert and Entrepreneur Dr. Juhi Sinha in Mushroom cultivation delivered a lecture on Mushroom production and supply in the local market. The students learnt mushroom spawn production technique and cultivated the oyster mushroom. They also prepared mushroom bags. Appox 30 students participated in this workshop. With a view of better understanding of the recent emerging diseases around the world and their impact on the society a poster competition was organized on 9th October 2018 which gave a platform to the students to showcase their view on this burning issue. Student Solar Ambassador Workshop - 2019
The Department of Computer Science of Career College, Bhopal organized the "Student Solar Ambassador Workshop" on the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.This workshop was held as part of the “Gandhi Global Solar Yatra”, in association with IIT, Bombay and MANIT, Bhopal. The workshop aimed at creating awareness about the harmful consequences of Carbon emissions, about the need to conserve non-renewable energy sources and to tap green energy like solar energy for everyday use. 50 students of Career College, under the guidance of Mr. Ambar Gaur and Mr. Yash Ojha, volunteers of MANIT, Bhopal and Career College faculty volunteers (trained by MANIT,Bhopal), Dr. Madhuri Shreedhar and Ms. Nikita Persai learnt to assemble a solar lamp. The oath of non-violence and environment protection were also administered to all the participants.

Foldscope: Exploring the Folds of Miniature World.
On 16th September 2019, Dept. of Biotechnology & Biochemistry in collaboration with Dept. Of Microbiology, Barkatullah University, Bhopal and Dept. Of Microbiology AIIMS, Bhopal organized a ‘One Day National Seminar on Foldscope: Exploring the Folds of Miniature World.’ In the first technical session, Resource Persons Prof. Anil Prakash (Head, Dept. Of Microbiology, BU Bhopal) and Dr. T. Karuna (Dept. of Microbiology, AIIMS, Bhopal) shared their research and experiences about the Foldscope Project and also explained the applications and limitations of Foldscope. The second technical session comprised of hands’ on training about ‘Assembly of Foldscope and its Usage’. Students observed various slides of bacteria, fungi, algae, pollen grains, etc. Around 125 students participated in this National Seminar-cum-Workshop.

Department of Chemistry organized a One Day Seminar in collaboration with ‘Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology’ on Intellectual Property Right. Dr. N K Choubey, Sr. Principal Scientist from ‘Patent Felicitation Centre’, MPCST graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave insights into utilizing traditional knowledge and intellect for economic growth of the country and promoting Research & Development. Dr. Sudeshna Ray from ‘Rabindra Nath Tagore University’ was the Keynote Speaker. She briefly informed about the process of patent filing and gave tips on how to be successful in this. Approximately 30 faculty from other colleges were benefitted. Our faculty benefitted and all members gained valuable knowledge on IPR.

On 30th Aug 2019 Department of Biotechnology and Biochemistry students attended online webinar organized by DBT. The webinar was viewed by the students at Career College Computer Lab. The topic of the webinar was "Nurturing future science leaders: Opportunities for the young investigators" 25 students attended the webinar. The speakers for the session were Dr. Minakshi Munshi, Scientist G, Adviser DBT and Prof. L.S. Shashidhara, ISSER, Pune. They gave the in-depth knowledge about how to create innovative ideas and how to inculcate scientific aptitude in students. Students were highly motivated and participated in this session with zeal and excitement.
